Mitarte Tempranillo Cosecha, 2009 Description: Fermented by carbonic maceration in open concrete tanks for 14 days. Cherry red in colour with a blue border denoting its youth. Quite glossy and very clean. Aroma with a floral first impression followed by ripe red fruit. Intense. Intense flavour, velvety and fleshy, with sweet tannins that surround the palate with an exquisite roundness. Light and well structured with a blueberry and cherry aftertaste. Harvest: Second fortnight in October. Grapes harvested by hand. Grape variety: Tempranillo 70%, Garnacha 18%, Viura 12% Age of vines: Between 3 and 60 years. Alcohol: 13% Bottle size: 75cl. Mitarte Tercera Hoja, 2008 Description: Fermentation at 24ºC for 8 days. Maceration lasts for 3 days after the fermentation process. Semi-crianza, with 4 months ageing in new French and American oak barrels. Clean and bright cherry in colour with outstanding floral and red fruit aromas and a red jelly climax. Tasty, fruity (raspberry) and with a hint of milk chocolate. Balanced and persistent, with a long and fruity aftertaste. Harvest: Second fortnight of October. Grapes harvested by hand. Mitarte Crianza, 2006 Description: Traditional fermentation at 28ºC for 15 days. Maceration lasts for 21 days after fermentation. 50% of the grape skins are stripped. Aged in new French and American oak barrels for 12 months. Intense cherry colour wih a clean and bright top layer. Complex fruity aroma and slightly spiced. On the palate it is elegant, fleshy, balanced and very tasty with a lingering aftertaste. Harvest: Harvested by hand in the second half of October. Mitarte Crianza Vendimia Seleccionada, 2006 Description: Fermentation at 28ºC for 10 days. Maceration lasts for 10 days after fermentation. The wine is then aged in new American oak barrels 70% and new French oak 30% for 12 months. It then spends another year in the bottle where it searches for its roundness. Intense, bright, clean cherry colour. Intense aroma of ripe red and black fruit, fine herbs and spices. Elegant, very tasty and powerful with a hint of red fruit jam, fine tannins and a velvety composition. Harvest: The last weeks of October. Harvested manually, by hand. Mitarte Reserva, 2004 Description: Fermentation at 27ºC for 9 days. Maceration lasts for 14 days after the fermentation. The wine is then aged in new American oak barrels 50% and new French oak 50% for 18 months. It then spends 2 years in the bottle before release. Cherry in colour; somewhat bright and intense. Powerful, slightly spicy and with fine minerals and a hint of toasted oak very well combined. Full bodied, well rounded, with very tasty ripe tannins and an expressive ripe fruit and mineral aftertaste. Elegant and persistent. Harvest: Second fortnight of October. Harvested by hand. Mitarte Mazuelo, 2006 Description: Cold maceration of the skins for 24 hours. Fermentation at 25ºC for 7 days. Maceration lasts for 6 days after the fermentation. The wine is subsequently aged in new French and American oak barrels for 24 months. It then spends another year in the bottle where it goes looking for its roundness. Cherry colour with a clean and very bright appearance. Spectacular aroma of blue and white flowers. On the palate, there is a hint of pippin apple and spices with a touch of lacquer. Intense. Harvest: First days of November. Harvested by hand. Grape variety: Mazuelo 100% Age of vines: 100 years. Alcohol: 12.5% Bottle size: 75cl. SYC de Mitarte, 2004 Description: Maceration before fermentation for 6 days. The skins are then fermented in barrels for 18 days. Maceration takes place again after fermentation for 10 days followed by malolactic fermentation in the barrel with lees. Following this, the wine stays in the oak barrels for 6 months. Peculiar aroma, something like jam mixed with ripe, roasted cherries. On the palate, there is a permanent expression of fleshy fruit combined with wood. Elegant, round and silky smooth with a long lingering finish. Original and different. Grape variety: Tempranillo 100% Age of vines: 100 years. Alcohol: 14% Bottle size: 75cl. Mitarte Blanco Cosecha, 2009 Description: Dynamic cold maceration of the skins for 24 hours. Natural static racking. Fermentation at 12ºC for 11 days. A light and brilliant yellow in colour. Aroma of flowers and white fruits. Fresh, dry and very pleasant with graceful levels of acidity and a long fruity aftertaste. Harvest: Last week of September and first week of October. Harvested by hand. Grape variety: Viura 100% Age of vines: 30 years. Alcohol: 12% Bottle size: 75cl. Storage advice: 10ºC Serving advice: 12ºC Average rating: 86/100
Mitarte Blanco Fermentado en Barrica, 2009 Description: Dynamic cold maceration of the skins for 36 hours. Fermentation then takes place in American and French oak barrels. Preparation is complete after a 4 month rest in oak barrels during which time the ‘battonage’ technique is employed to increase the qualities of wine. It is quite a light yellow colour with a very clean appearance. Spectacular aroma of flowers and fruit against an intense tropical backdrop. Dry, rich, truly delicious and extremely elegant with a perfectly combined creamy aftertaste with a hint of fresh herbs. Harvest: Second week of October. Grapes collected by hand. Mitarte Rosado, 2009 Description: Fermentation at 12ºC for 14 days. This rosé has a clean and bright light pink colour to it, with an intense aroma of ripe red fruit and red candy. On the palate it is tasty, light and balanced with red candy and redcurrant flavours. Very suggestive, dry and refreshing. Harvest: Second fortnight of October. Manual harvest.
